‘Future in the past – Conservation through sustainable innovation’

The Dutch foundation for Castles, Country Houses and Estates (sKBL) will in close corporation with Les Amis du Potager du Roi, the Walled Kitchen Gardens Network (WKGN)
and the University of Groningen be hosting the second European Symposium on the conservation of historic fruit and kitchen gardens. The symposium will be held September 5th at Culinary Estate Parc Broekhuizen & Zuylestein Estate in Leersum. During this day you will meet head gardeners, heritage gardeners, estate owners and researchers of historic kitchen gardens from all over Europe and you will be invited to join the discussions on the theme ‘Future in the past – Conservation through sustainable innovation’.

On September 4th there it will be possible for early arriving participants to take part in a meet and greet including a guided tour through the historic kitchen garden of Vollenhoven country house in Bilthoven – and on September 6th it will be possible to join an excursion to the province of Gelderland.

NB. The working language at the symposium will be English; with simultaneous interpretation available for French speaking participants
