After several successful common projects realized for the exhibition “FRIEDERISIKO” on Frederick the Great´s 300thbirthday in 2012 and based mainly on the Prussian cultural heritage both organisations decided to combine their efforts in the field of the humanities as well as in the field of the natural sciences.

Ongoing ventures of RECS focus on critical editions like an English edition of the philosophical writings of Frederick the Great, which is supervised by Avi Lifschitz (University College London) and will be published by Princeton University Press. The online edition of letters of the Margravine Wilhelmine von Bayreuth sent while on journey to France and Italy in 1754-1755, and a collection of pamphlets of the Seven Years War are two more projects of RECS.

RECS also implements interdisciplinary approaches to its´ topics like a scientific study on the impact of climate change on the historical houses and gardens of the SPSG.

International partnerships with the University of Southampton and the European Network for Country House and Estate Research (Encounter) underline the objectives of RECS to connect European cultural heritage and academic research and provide international programs as for example the RECS-Voltaire-Fellowship.
