Reading culture, materiality & social practices: manor libraries in the 18th–19th centuries
Conference at Löfstad Castle, 17–18 august 2023
With the library as a point of departure, this conference will be investigating reading and other related pastimes as cultural and social practices. The purpose will be to strengthen knowledge about reading cultures and related social practices as well as to stimulate method development in the relevant fields. Contributions that explore the content, design, and mandated tasks of manor- and country house libraries are welcomed.
Contributions for the conference must be in the Nordic languages or in English.
