ENCOUNTER is an academic network dedicated to the study and interpretation of manor and country house history across Europe. The network brings together around 200 individuals with a professional interest in the field. The network’s activities are coordinated by a steering group with representatives from six different countries.

The ENCOUNTER network was established in 2015 on the initiative of The Danish Research Centre for Manorial Studies, which now holds the chairmanship of the steering group and the secretariat for this network. Learn more about the Research Centre: www.herregaardsforskning.dk/en.
