Opening of four restored and redecorated rooms at Gammel Estrup – the Manor Museum
On the 6th of July Gammel Estrup – the Manor Museum opens four restored and redecorated rooms in the main building. In the rooms – the drawing room, the bedroom, the nursery and the gallery – the story of aristocratic family life in late 19th century will be told. It was a period in which the modern family ideal with a close and loving relationship between husband and wife and parents and their children developed. The new ideal and the requirement for more private life for the family were reflected in the country house décor. The opening of the four rooms is a part of a larger restoration and redecoration of Gammel Estrup which has been going on for the last eight years.
